The material is primarily concerned with the Kansas Judicial Council and Kansas Criminal Code revisions. The collection consists mostly of files such as personal, correspondence, legal documents, vouchers, newspapers clippings, and expenditure reports. The personal papers include correspondence, newspaper clippings, material on his unsuccessful attempt at running for the Kansas Supreme court, letters received from Fred N. Six, Bob Dole, and others relating to the mural at the U.S. Courthouse in Kansas City, Kan.; and a Christmas card. Items included are a letter to the attorney general of Alabama, invitations to speak at various clubs and different meetings he attended, and requests for legal favors. Information on the Legal Services for Prisoners project includes material from other states, a biography of the program's director, travel expenditures, and trips taken. There are draft revisions of the Kansas Criminal Code as well as notes, memos, clippings, codes, and agenda minutes. Other topics involve the Citizens' Conference on Kansas Courts and Judicial Council recommendations regarding the Appellate court. There is little information on the famous Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka case. Lastly, there are booklets dealing with Senate bills, a trial transcript, and a deceased judge.
